Councilmen referred to <br />the position of the residents of Santa Ana and the Council <br />opposing a concrete channel in Santiago Creek expressed at <br />many public hearings and community meetings, and the requests <br />made by the City for revision of the plans to achieve a more <br />aesthetic flood control method. CA 53 <br /> <br />WAIVER OF FEE - STADIUM On the request of <br />SANTA ANA BAND REVIEW Robert L. Ward, Chair- <br />APPROVED man of the California <br /> Band Review sponsored <br />each year by the Santa Aha Winds Youth Band, and on the recom- <br />mendation of Robert E. Gresham, Recreation and Parks Director, <br />in his report dated November 15, 1978, fee for the use of the <br />Santa Ana Stadium on November 24, 1978, for the Santa Aha Band <br />Review, was waived on the motion of Councilman Ward, seconded <br />by Councilman Brandt, carried 4:0 unanimously. CA 52.8 <br /> <br />UNIFORM COMPENSATION - BOARDS & A uniform rate of compen- <br />COMMISSIONS - REFERRAL #20-78 sation for City Boards <br />TABLED; DELETED and Commissions recom- <br /> mended by Acting City <br />Manager Keith Gow in his report dated November 16, 1978, was <br />tabled indefinitely, and Council Referral Item No. 20-78 was <br />removed from the Summary, on the motion of Councilman Brandt, <br />seconded by Councilman Ward, and carried 4:0 unanimously. The <br />report recommended a rate of $25.00 per meeting, hearing or <br />study session approved by each board or commission, not to <br />exceed $50.00 per month, with the option to accept only the <br />first payment of $25.00 if the board or commission so desired. <br /> CA 80.9 <br /> <br />BID CALL - SPEC 78-029 Plans and specifications <br />PICKUP TRUCK were approved and adver- <br />APPROVED tisement for bids author- <br /> ized for one full size <br />1/2 ton pickup truck to replace a 1970 truck (Equipment #19-07), <br />on the motion of Councilman Brandt, seconded by Councilman Ward, <br />and unanimously carried 4:0. <br /> <br />Acting City Manager Keith Gow reported that a full size truck <br />is needed to carry a large illuminated sign used by the Public <br />Works Street Division Lighting, Signing and Painting Section, <br />and that preliminary inquiries by the Purchasing and Property <br />Control Officer resulted in location of a 1978 truck at Guaranty <br />Chevrolet that can be purchased for $4,943.56.
