McCue stated that the Fair Housing Council ]lad handled 78 discrimination <br />complaints and 2,252 landlord-tenant complaints; committed $27,000 of its own <br />resources to Santa /Ina residents and asked for an annual allocation of $13,000 <br />last spring; and has reduced its budget by $4,000 and increased its productivity. <br />In response to Councilman Bricken's question about-the Council's ability to <br />deal with mobile home park problems, Mr. McCue stated that an additional body <br />of knowledge is necessary and employees must be retrained, and that the pro- <br />posed contract deals with the present level of service only. Following the <br />oral co~nents and consideration of additional information in a report dated <br />December 12, 1978, prepared by Alice McCullough, Con~nunity Development Coordina- <br />tor, MOTION was made by Yamamoto, seconded by Ward, to allocate $7,500 to the <br />Fair Housing Council for counseling services for one year. <br /> <br />FDTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Evans, to amend the motion to approve <br />an agreement between the City and the Orange County Fair Housing Council for <br />coanseling services related to housing for low-income persons and families in <br />the City, from September 1, 1978, through March 31, 1979, for the sum of $7,500, <br />and to authorize its execution by the Mayor and Clerk. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Evans, Garthe, Ward <br />Ortiz, Yamamoto <br />Brandt <br /> <br />A-78-138 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO.
