<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />REL; 11/14,'94 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 94-8 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOP- <br />MENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />FINDING THAT THE AGGREGATION OF NEW OR <br />SUBSTANTIALLY REHABILITATED DWELLING <br />UNITS IN ONE OR MORE PROJECT AREAS WILL <br />NOT CAUSE OR EXACERBATE RACIAL, ETHNIC <br />OR ECONOMIC SEGREGATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law (California Health <br />and Safety Code sections 33000 et seq.) requires, in paragraph A of <br />section 33413 (b) (2), that at least 15 percent of all new and <br />substantially rehabilitated dwelling units developed within any <br />redevelopment project area by public or private entities or persons <br />other than the redevelopment agency be available at affordable <br />housing cost to persons and families of low or moderate income, and <br />that at least 50 percent of such units be available to and occupied <br />by very low income households; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said paragraph allows a redevelopment agency having <br />jurisdiction over more than one project area to aggregate such new <br />or substantially rehabilitated dwelling units in one or more <br />project areas, provided that the agency finds, based on substantial <br />evidence, after public hearing, that the aggregation will not <br />cause or exacerbate racial, ethnic, or economic segregation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, people of differing racial, ethnic and economic <br />backgrounds are dispersed throughout the redevelopment project <br />areas of the city and in the neighboring residential areas; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Agency hereby finds and <br />determines that the aggregation of new or substantially rehabili- <br />tated dwelling units in one or more project areas of the City of <br />Santa Ana will not cause or exacerbate racial, ethnic, or economic <br />segregation. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
