W. <br />PROCLAMATIONS - AMERICAN NATIONAL Hutchison, Member of the Board of <br />RED CROSS; ARCO JESSE OWENS C¢3~S Directors of the Orange County <br />DAY Chapter of the American Red Cross, <br /> accepted from Councilman Yamamoto a <br />proclamation supporting "Red Cross Month," March, 1979. <br /> <br />Robert Gresham, Director of Recreation amd Parks, accepted from Council- <br />man Ortiz a proclamation for ARCO Jesse Owens Ganms Day, March 31, 1979. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSPORTATION The Mayor opened the public hearing <br />CENTER - GRANT PROPOSAL to consider the grant proposal for <br />AGREF~=NT - APPROVED joint development by City and Com- <br />RESOLUTION NOT-TP-z-~ - ADOPTED nmmity Redevelopment Agency of the <br /> Santa Ana Transportation Center, <br />adjacent property and related public improvements. <br /> <br />Councilman Ward left the Council dais stating he would abstain from dis- <br />cussion, deliberation and determination regarding this matter. <br /> <br />The Administrative Aide for the Redevelopment Agency presented the staff <br />report summarizing the proposed grant application for $4,355,760 from <br />the U.S. Department of Transportation for development of an air-rights <br />pad over the Santa Ana terminal; acquisition, relocation, demolition and <br />site clearance for various expansion developments; and pedestrian related <br />public improvements, including construction of a pedestrian overpass, <br />expansion of Birch Park and realignment of Fourth Street and Birch Park. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written con~nunications. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in favor of the proposal: <br /> <br />Hill Hornig, Orange County Transportation District <br />Victor Alleman, Chamber of Commerce <br />David Williams, City Center Association <br /> <br />Ray Reddick, 1222 South Halladay, requested information regarding the total <br />financing of the transportation center, which was supplied by the City <br />Attorney. <br /> <br />There were no other proponents or opponents, and the Mayor closed the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL ~NUTES 73 MARCH 12, 1979 <br /> <br /> <br />
