MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 21, 1979 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor James E. Ward at 2:02 p.m. in the City <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Council members present were Gordon <br />Bricken, Daniel E. Griset, R.W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, James E. Ward, <br />and Marry K. Yamamoto. Councilman A1 Serrato arrived at 2:12 p.m. Also present <br />were City Manager/Acting Clerk of the Council B.J. Thompson; City Attorney Keith <br />Gow; members of the staff and press. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF /tLLEGIANCE <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance, <br />the Invocation was given by Councilman <br />Bricken. <br /> <br />RECESS - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CC~ITY <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> <br />members present. <br /> <br />DISSENTING VOTES <br /> <br />and Item 10 by Mayor Ward. NO votes were <br />Yamamoto on Items 4B and 4C. <br /> <br />At 2:04 p.m. Council recessed to convene <br />the regular meeting of the Oonmmmity <br />Redevelopment Agency. At 3:40 p.m. <br />the Council reconvened with all Council <br /> <br />Item 1 was removed from the Consent <br />Calendar by Yamamoto; Items 3D and 5F <br />by Bricken; Items 4D, 12F and 17 by <br />Serrato; Items 12C and 12G by Markel; <br />registered by Bricken on 4A; and <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECflvNENDAT IONS <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded <br />by Yamamoto, to approve the staff <br />recommendations on the following <br />Consent Calendar items: <br /> <br />AYES: BRICKEN, GRISET, LUXt~MBOURGER, MARKBL, SERRATO, WARD, YAMAMOTO <br />NOES: NONE <br /> <br />BID CALLS <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifications, and <br />authorized advertisement for bids on <br />the following: <br /> <br />PROJECT 8156 - Installation of Left-Turn Signals at Harbor/ <br />Segerstrom & Fifth/Fairview. <br /> <br />SPEC 79-015 - Quadrant "B" Tree Trimming. <br /> <br />CA 89 <br /> <br />BID AWARDS <br /> <br />Awarded the following on the basis <br />of lowest responsible and responsive <br />bidder: <br /> <br />PROJECt 7055 and PROJECT 7229 - Handball Court Lighting at Rosita <br />and Campesino Parks; awarded to Pacific Recreational Lighting and <br />Maintenance, Gardena, in the total amount of $17,475.00. <br /> <br />PROd-EOT 7238 - Santa Anita and Jackson Parks; and PROJECT 6148 - <br />Flower Street Park; awarded to Dewco Company, Redondo Beach, for <br />construction of security lighting in the total amount of <br />$29,661.oo. <br /> <br />SPEC 79-010 - Playground equipment for Center, Edna, E1 Salvador <br />and Grant Parks; awarded Items Al, A3 and A4 to Quality Industries, <br />Inc., West Covina,. in the total amount of $12,388.65; Item A2 to <br />Gametime, Inc., Irvine, in the amount of $2,357.44; Item Bi t6 K B V <br />Enterprise~, San Pedro, in the amount of $14,597.52; and Items B2 and <br />B3 to Creative Recreational Systems, Inc., Sacramento, in the total <br />amount of $6,995.48.
