Couaacilman Serrato cautioned that possibly there should not be co-mingling of <br />Housing and Redevelopment services. <br /> <br />The City Manager responded that related services would be nDved to adjacent loca- <br />tions for the convenience of those using the services. <br /> <br />Citizen comments were: <br /> <br />Melvin Jones asked that there be opportunity for citizen questions prior to <br />Council action. <br /> <br />Mickey M~dden con~plimented the City Manager, and said that she is delighted with <br />the proposed Plan. <br /> <br />A1 Amezcua suggested that other options should be developed; that one option <br />would be two assistants or deputies as proposed by Councilman Yamamoto; and he <br />stressed the importance of community relations. <br /> <br />Rudy Moreno also complimented the City Manager, but expressed opposition to <br />combining Housing and Con~nunity Development with Redevelopment. <br /> <br />Mike Lotte commented regarding functional aspects of the Plan. <br /> <br />Councilman Luxembourger asked the City Manager to provide information as to person- <br />nel count per (organizational) block, dollar amount per block in the Budget, whether <br />functions are 24 hours or not, and as to whether or not the Assistant City Manager <br />will receive training in order to relieve the City Manager when necessary. <br /> <br />Mayor Ward s%m~ned up the discussion with a quotation from the A. D. Little report: <br />'He must begin by pointing out the improvement may be more dependent upon the <br />desire of each Councilman to help 'make things work' than any specific procedural <br />or policy change." <br /> <br />It was decided by informal consensus to set another study session for the Plan on <br />Tuesday, June 5, 5:30 p.m., in Room 831 of City Hall.
