<br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 77-22 <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Ward, seconded by Mr. Evans and carried <br />unanimously to approve the Agreement for acquisition of real <br />property in the Redevelopment Project Area, and to adopt <br />Resolution 77-22: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN OF <br />THE AGENCY TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THE ACQUISITION OF REAL <br />PROPERTY IN THE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 77-24 <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Ward, seconded by Mr. Evans and carried <br />unanimously to authorize the Executive Director to make <br />expenditures and adopt Resolution 77-24: A RESOLUTION OF THE <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF LIFE INSURANCE AND A.D.&D. INSURANCE TO <br />COVER ELIGIBLE AGENCY MEMBERS. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION - STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Bricken, seconded by Mr. Ortiz and <br />carried unanimously to receive and file the report prepared by <br />the staff on Economic Development Corporation. <br /> <br />The Executive Director reported that the Redevelopment Commission <br />has received a copy of this report and Agency staff will be <br />working with the Commission to bring back recommendations for <br />implementation to the Redevelopment Agency by the next Regular <br />Meeting of the Redevelopment Agency. <br /> <br />STATUS REPORT ON AGENCY ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />A motion was made <br />carried unanimously <br />Agency activities. <br /> <br />by <br />to <br /> <br />Mr. Evans, seconded by Mr. Bricken and <br />receive and file the Status Report on <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE ORANGE <br />COUNTY TRANSIT DISTRICT 700 CAR PARK-AND-RIDE FACILITY PROPOSED <br />TO BE CONSTRUCTED AT BROADWAY, BIRCH, FIFTH AND SANTA ANA <br />BOULEVARD <br /> <br />Mr. Ward left the meeting. <br /> <br />The hearing was opened by Chairman David Brandt. Following the <br />presentation by Mr. Harvey Champlin, Associate Manager of the <br />Environmental Studies Department of Ultra Systems, Inc. who <br />described the traffic, noise, air pollution impacts that will be <br />introduced into the area by the construction of the Park-And-Ride <br />facility, the Chairman then invited comments from the public and <br />the following persons spoke: <br /> <br />Eric Sorenson, 18001 Norton Street, Irvine. Mr. Sorenson stated <br />that there were five planning students who undertook to do an <br />inventory of downtown Santa Ana¡ that they took pictures and <br />walked through the streets and came up with a booklet which is a <br />graphic representation of how they perceive the Civic Center <br />area, how it could be a link between the existing and historical <br />area as outlined on page 15 of the booklet. He further stated <br />that the booklet, .Santa Ana: A Downtown Study., presents an <br />alternative which the EIR does not address and that is the <br />location of the transit center on the triangular lot bounded by <br />Santa Ana Boulevard, Birch and Fifth Street. <br />
