<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />JULY 26, 1977 <br /> <br />The Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency was <br />called to order by Chairman John Garthe at 5:06 P.M. in the City <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California. <br />After the pledge to the Flag, roll was called: <br /> <br />PRESENT <br /> <br />ABSENT <br /> <br />John Garthe <br />Vernon Evans <br />David Brandt <br />Harry Yamamoto <br />James Ward <br /> <br />Gordon Bricken <br />David Ortiz <br /> <br />Others in attendance: <br /> <br />Richard E. Goblirsch, Executive Director <br />Susan Shick, Assistant to Executive Director <br />Tom Hammill, Real Estate Agent <br />Stacey Creveston, Secretary <br />Bruce Spragg, City Manager <br />Bon Wolford, Assistant City Manager <br />Keith Gow, City Attorney <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on June 28, 1977 were <br />approved upon the motion of Mr. Evans, seconded by Mr. Ward, and <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RELOCATION OF MISSION <br /> <br />The Executive Director reported that Agency staff has been <br />showing the Mission some additional properties, but have not yet <br />found them another suitable location and that it will be up to <br />the Mission to decide if they want to drop out of the present <br />transaction with the Carpenter's Hall. The Executive Director <br />reported that the Santa Anita residents do not want the Mission <br />relocated in their neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. Manuel Barron, a private citizen, approached the podium and <br />stated that Reverend Whitehead should be commended for his work, <br />but his organization is not an appropriate use for the west side <br />residential neighborhood, and he is opposed to the Mission being <br />located in the west side of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Brandt, seconded by Mr. Garthe and <br />carried by the following roll call vote to receive the oral <br />report and instruct staff to continue to seek another location <br />that is suitable for Mission relocation. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Garthe, Evans, Brandt, Yamamoto, Ward <br />None <br />Bricken, Ortiz <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - CONDEMNATION IN 14 ACRE SITE <br /> <br />The Chairman of the Community Redevelopment Agency announced <br />that this was the time and place for the public hearing on <br />condemnation of property located in the 14 acre housing site for <br />
