<br />-. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />MARCH 19, 1979 <br /> <br />The Regular Meeting of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the <br />City of Santa Ana was called to order by Chairman David L. Brandt <br />at 2:08 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, <br />Santa Ana, California. After the pledge to the Flag, roll was <br />called: <br /> <br />PRESENT <br /> <br />ABSENT <br /> <br />David Brandt <br />Gordon Bricken <br />Vernon Evans <br />John Garthe <br />David Ortiz <br />James Ward <br />Harry Yamamoto <br /> <br />Others in attendance: <br /> <br />Richard E. Goblirsch, Executive Director <br />Tom Hammill, Real Estate Officer <br />Stacey Creveston, Secretary <br />B.J. Thompson, City Manager <br />Dan Stone, Assistant City Manager <br />Keith Gow, City Attorney <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Evans, seconded by Mr. Garthe and carried <br />unanimously to approve the Minutes of the Special Meeting held on <br />March 12, 1979. <br /> <br />RELOCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Ortiz, seconded by Mr. Garthe and carried <br />(Mr. Yamamoto voted NO) to authorize the Executive Director to <br />issue relocation payments as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />American National properties <br /> <br />Rachel Meacham <br />206 Roe Drive <br /> <br />$10,000.00 <br /> <br />Market Rate Housing <br /> <br />Teresa Vargas <br />201 N. Flower <br /> <br />$ 1,875.00 <br /> <br />Before the question was called for on the above motion, Agency <br />member Yamamoto questioned why the Agency was going to pay <br />relocation money to Teresa Vargas since she does not qualify for <br />the payment. The Executive Director stated that Ms. Vargas did <br />not know that she was moving into a relocation area, and that she <br />moved into the project after the Agency made an offer to acquire <br />the property. Because of this technicality, and because of her <br />financial condition and the size of her family, Staff has not been <br />able to find an adequate relocation unit. It is Staff's <br />recommendation to pay her to assist in moving, or Staff will be <br />
