The site is bounded on the north by <br />Third Street, on the west by Spurgeon Street, on the south <br />by First Street, and on the east by the Redevelopment Area <br />boundary. <br /> <br />Chairman <br />members. <br /> <br />requested <br /> <br />hear <br /> <br />from the Agency <br /> <br />Luxembourger <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Young seconded by Mr. Bricken and <br />carried unanimously to continue this public hearing for <br />ninety (90) days. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Young, seconded by Mr. Bricken and <br />carried unanimously to authorize staff to proceed with the <br />appraisals on the A-lO site. <br /> <br />JOINT PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED SALE BY THE COMMUNITY <br />REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO GRAND PLAZA DEVELOPMENT COMPANY <br />(FIRE TRAINING SITE) <br /> <br />Chairman Luxembourger announced that this was the time and <br />place for the joint public hearing of the Community <br />Redevelopment Agency and the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana for the proposed sale of property known as the <br />Fire Training site by the Community Redevelopment Agency of <br />the City of Santa Ana to Grand Plaza Development Company. <br />The site is located on the west side of Grand Avenue, north <br />of Dyer Road. <br /> <br />Chairman Luxembourger requested that staff identify the <br />property or issues and give staff recommendation. The <br />Assistant Director Redevelopment & Real Estate addressed the <br />Agency by pointing out the property on a map on display in <br />the Council Chambers. Ms. Nelson stated that in October <br />1983, the Agency granted Grand Plaza Development Company an <br />exclusive right to negotiate for the development of a three- <br />story, l80-room hotel. The estimated development value is <br />$10 million. <br /> <br />Mr. Bill McWethy, Jr., Managing General Partner, Grand Plaza <br />Development Company, 2724 S. Grand Avenue, Santa Ana, <br />California, addressed the Agency with a brief outline of <br />their project. <br /> <br />In response to a question raised by Mr. Young, Mr. McWethy <br />stated that the anticipated completion date is March 1985. <br /> <br />The Chairman announced that the Agency would now like to <br />hear from those people who desired to address the Agency on <br />this issue. He added that if anyone desired to address the <br /> <br />-2- <br />
