CIVIC CENTER MASTERPLAN UPDATE As recommended in the report <br />RFP, FUNDING & CONTRACT ADMINISTRA- dated February 12, 1980, pre- <br />TION - APPROVED pared by the Director of Pub- <br /> lic Works, and the recommenda- <br />tion of the City Manager to delete reference to maximum amount, MOTION <br />was made by Bricken, seconded by Luxembourger, to 1) approve the Request <br />for Proposal as prepared by the Consultant Collaborative; 2) authorize <br />payment for Request for Proposal contract from Civic Center Parking <br />Maintenance Fund 2661; 3) authorize solicitation for proposals for updat- <br />ing the Civic Center Masterplan; 4) authorize County to be the contract- <br />ing agent for the Masterplan update; and 5) authorize payment from Civic <br />Center Parking Maintenance Fund 2661 for costs incurred in solicitation <br />and hiring of a masterplanner and preparation of Masterplan update. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br />None CA 77.14 <br /> <br />PROJECT 2073 - SAFETY PROJECT MOTION was made by Bricken, <br />LEFT-TURN SIGNALS & APPROPRIATION seconded by Ward, to 1) <br />ADJUSTMENT - APPROVED approve Supplement No. 10 to <br /> Local Agency State Agreement <br />No. 07-5063 for 100% funding of Project 2073; authorize its execution by <br />Mayor and Clerk; and direct staff to forward executed copies to the State <br />for its formal approval; and 2) approve Appropriation Adjustment No. 118 <br />transferring $256,500 of Federal funding and $28,500 of State funding from <br />Anticipated Revenue to a Federal Hazard Elimination Safety Program operat- <br />ing account to implement Project 2073, as recommended by the Traffic <br />Engineering Supervisor in the report dated February 8, 1980. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />Markel <br />None <br /> <br />A-80-19 <br />CA 65.3 <br /> <br />MEXICO CITY VARIETY SHOWS As recommended in the report <br />SANTA ANA STADIUM prepared by the Administrative <br />APPROVED Assistant, Executive Services, <br /> dated February 13, 1980, <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Ward, to approve the recommenda- <br />tions for the Beauty Pageant and Variety Show on May lO, 1980, and the <br />Folk Music Festival on July 26, 1980, or August 2, 1980. <br /> <br />Following discussion, the foregoing motion was split into two motions as <br />follows: <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Bricken, seconded by Ward, to: <br /> <br />l) Endorse the Miss Latin Orange County Beauty Pageant and Variety <br /> Show for May lO, 1980; <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Waive the 10% gross ticket sales (City revenue) to offset the <br />production costs; and, after a reasonable portion of the produc- <br />tion costs have been offset by the ticket sales, as negotiated <br />between staff and the promoter, a minimum of 10% of the ticket <br />sales will be returned to the City; <br /> <br />3) Authorize the Executive Services Division to serve as the City's <br /> coordinator for the event; and <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Approve granting of rights by City to radio and television broad- <br />casting of the event, with a section of the negotiated agreement <br />to be construed as the written permit called for in Section 2-744 <br />of the Santa Aha Municipal Code, only for the purpose of broad- <br />casting or telecasting this event, not to relinquish any other <br />rights reserved to the City by said section. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />65 FEBRUARY 19, 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />
