PROCLAMATIONS - GIRL SCOUT WEEK; <br />COURT WATCH; LETTER WRITING WEEK: <br />HANDICAP AWARENESS WEEK <br /> <br />The following proclamations <br />issued by the Mayor were <br />presented: <br /> <br />"Girl Scout Week", March 9 through 15, 1980, presented to Dorothy <br />Gee, Community Association Leader, Girl Scouts of America, by <br />Councilman Griset. <br /> <br />"Court Watch", presented to Kathy Galassi, President, Community <br />Criminal Action Committee, by Councilmen Bricken. <br /> <br />"National Letter Writing Week", February 24 through March l, 1980, <br />presented to Gus Hengeler, representing United States Postal Ser- <br />vice, by Councilman Serrato. <br /> <br />"Handicapped Awareness Week", March 9 through 16, 1980, presented to <br />the community at large by Councilman Markel. CA 46 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - VA 79-50 The Mayor opened the public <br />1202-1216 CIVIC CENTER DR. W. hearing set by Council on <br />APPROVED; PARKING STANDARDS February 19, 1980, for con- <br />REF--'~-~-~]ql~'~q~TO STAFF sideration of Negative <br /> Declaration and Variance <br />Application No. 79-50, to waive requirements for a 4-acre minimum site <br />area for an office complex and a portion of the required parking in the C4 <br />District at 1202-1216 Civic Center Drive West. <br /> <br />The staff report and recommendations were presented by the Planning <br />Director. <br /> <br />There were no written communications. <br /> <br />George C. Bender, 1913 Eo Almond Dr., Anaheim, agent for Diamond Hills, <br />and Michael Hemming, 303 Wo Mission Blvd., Pomona, Attorney at Law <br />representing the applicant, spoke in favor of the variance. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers. The Mayor closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Griset, seconded by Luxembourger, to approve and file <br />the Negative Declaration and instruct the City Attorney to prepare a <br />resolution approving VA 79-50 and affirming the decision of the Planning <br />Commission. <br /> <br />An AMENDMENT to the motion was made by Bricken, seconded by Ward, to <br />prohibit on-street parking on Baker Street and Civic Center Drive in <br />front of the project.
