MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />May 5, 1980 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. by Mayor James E. Ward in the <br />City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Council members present <br />were Gordon Bricken, Daniel E. Griset, R. W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, <br />Alfred C. Serrato, Harry K. Yamamoto, and Mayor Ward. Also present were <br />City Manager Carl J. Thornton, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk <br />of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Alle- <br />giance to the Flag, the Invoca- <br />tion was given by Councilman <br />Markel. <br /> <br />RECESS - SPECIAL MEETING Council recessed at 2:08 p.m. <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY to the Special Meeting of the <br />RECESS - HOUSING AUTHORITY Community Redevelopment Agency. <br />CITY COUNCIL - RECONVENED At 3:40 p.m. the Community <br /> Redevelopment Agency meeting <br />was recessed to the Regular Meeting of the Housing Authority. At 3:50 <br />p.m. the Regular Meeting of the City Council was reconvened with all <br />members present. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR Items 6. 8C, 8D, and 17A were <br />ITEMS REMOVED & removed from the Consent Calen- <br />DISSENTING VOTES dar by Markel; Items 8B, 17B, <br /> and 17C by Serrato; Item 12B by <br />Ward; and Item 18B by a member of the public. NO votes were registered by <br />Bricken and Yamamoto on Item 5F, and on Item 5I by Bricken. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />items. <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Luxembourger, <br />seconded by Serrato, to approve <br />the staff recommendations on <br />the following Consent Calendar <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Meeting of April 26, <br /> <br />1980. <br /> <br />Approved the Minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting of April 21, <br />1980, and the Adjourned Regular <br /> <br />BID CALLS <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifica- <br />tions and authorized advertise- <br />ment for bids on the following: <br /> <br />Crime Lab Furniture - Police Department. <br /> <br />PROJECT 1414 - Widen Fairview Street from 991' <br />to 1408' South of First Street - Public Works. <br /> <br />PROJECT 7130 - One Fume Hood for Crime Lab - <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />CA 89 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 143 MAY 5, 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />
