INVOCATION Following the Pledge of Alle- <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE giance to the Flag, the Invo- <br /> cation was given by Reverend <br />Gary Beard, Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Maureen Rischard, member of Ebell <br />EBELL SOCIETY Society, addressed the Council <br /> members, and informed them of <br /> the history of Ebell, noting <br />that it has been in operation in the State of California for over 100 <br />years. The Society offers many various activities for women, and the <br />Santa Ana branch has been located on French Street since 1924. Ms. <br />Rischard extended an invitation to Council members and their wives to <br />visit the Society. Ms. Rischard was presented with a City Seal tile <br />plaque by the Mayor as an expression of Council's appreciation for the <br />valuable work and services performed by the Ebell Society. CA 9.3 <br /> <br />PRESENTATION OF COMMUNITY Mayor Ward, on behalf of the City <br />DEVELOPMENT FUNDS - $75,000 Council, presented Community <br />TO NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICES Development funds in the amount <br /> of $75,000 to Neighborhood Housing <br />Services, Inc. Present to accept the check on behalf of NHS were William <br />Larsen, President, Martha Ray, Vice President, and Ina Bliss, Executive <br />Director. CA 140.40 <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE The Clerk of the Council <br />ANN NIEDRINGHAUS - LIBRARY BOARD administered the Oath of <br /> Office to Ann Niedringhaus, <br /> newly-appointed member of <br />the Library Board. Ms. Niedringhaus was welcomed by the City Council. <br /> CA 80.9 <br /> <br />AGENDA ORDER - GRANT PARK WELL SITE In response to a request from <br />GRANT DEED TO O.C. WATER DISTRICT the public, Council considered <br />CONTINUED TO 10-6-80 the report dated August 25, 1980, <br /> from the Acting Public Works <br />Director, out of agenda order.
