A) Rehabilitation of an Art Training Center ($18,000) <br />B) Construction of a Safety Fence along Amtrak/Santa Fe <br /> tracks ($8,000) <br />C) Rehabilitation of an Emergency Housing Shelter for <br /> Alcoholic Women ($13,000) <br /> <br />The Community Development Coordinator presented the staff report and <br />recommendations. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council reported there were no written communications. <br /> <br />The following people spoke in favor of rehabilitation of an art training <br />center located in the Grants Building: <br /> <br />Bill Hernandez, 800 E. Ocean Boulevard, Long Beach <br />Mary Lou Wheeler, Friendly Center <br /> <br />The following people spoke in favor of the safety fence along a portion of <br />the Amtrak/Santa Fe railroad tracks: <br /> <br />Josephine Andrade, 935 Logan Street <br />Samuel Romero, 2034 South Spruce Street <br /> <br />The following people spoke in favor of the rehabilitation of an emergency <br />housing shelter for alcoholic women (Villa Recovery Home): <br /> <br />Doris LaMagna, 910 N. French <br /> <br />There were no other speakers on the matter.
