EX 73-27 - 1631-1633 S. STANDARD MOTION was made by Griset, <br />CONTINUED FROM AFTERNOON SESSION seconded by Luxembourger, <br />RECEIVED & FILED to receive and file the Notice <br /> of Revocation and revocation of <br />Minor Exception 73-27 in order to disallow the expansion of an existing beer <br />bar (Coco's Inn) at 1631-1633 South Standard Avenue. <br /> <br />Motion passed on the following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Serrato, Ward, Yamamoto <br />None <br />Markel <br /> <br />CA 13.2 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Reverend Shipp expressed his <br />PASTOR THOMAS SHIPP thanks to Council and staff for <br />CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH their help with his building <br /> project. He informed Council <br />of a parade for Black History, to be held on February 7, 1981, beginning <br />at 11:00 a.m., at the Jerome Center, and extended a personal invitation <br />to the Councilmembers present. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION Dan Hayes addressed Council in- <br />DAN HAYES quiring if there were any way in <br /> which to hold a sidewalk sale <br /> at his place of business "Smarty <br />Pants," located at 2407 South Bristol, since the City Code prohibits such <br />sales. <br /> <br />Council suggested that Mr. Hayes talk to the City Manager's office to <br />see if anything could be done. Council also suggested that the formation <br />of a merchants' association might aid in coordinating this type of effort. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION - BRICKEN Councilman Bricken reported on <br /> many problems encountered with <br /> trying to exit the Civic Center <br /> parking lot during peak traffic <br />times, and also the fact that a person is charged 256 to enter the lot <br />even when no space is available. <br /> <br />The Assistant City Manager was requested to contact the Orange County <br />Board of Supervisors to try to alleviate this situation, and report <br />back to Council on February 2, 1981. CA 77.5 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION - WARD <br /> <br />Mayor Ward requested that staff <br />incorporate the 1979 Uniform <br />Building Code into City building <br />code requirements. <br /> <br />The City Attorney was requested to look into this matter. <br /> <br />CA 87 <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATION - SERRATO Councilman Serrato expressed <br /> concern with the firing of weapons <br /> within the city limits on occasions <br /> such as the 4th of July and New <br />Year's Eve. He suggested more severe enforcement and punishment in order <br />to alleviate this type of activity. CA 64 <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT At 10:20 p.m., the meeting was <br /> adjourned by unanimous informal <br /> consent to Monday, February 2, <br /> 1981, 12:30 p.m., at 1439 South <br />Broadway, for the dedication of the Fire Administration Building. <br /> <br /> /<Fa}~ice C.
