It is the principal higher education <br />facility in Orange County, offering undergraduate <br />and graduate programs in a variety of fields includ- <br />ing studies toward a Ph,D, Enrollment has grown <br />to over 12,000 students, <br />Other institutions of higher learning in Orange <br />County are California State University at Fullerton; <br />Chapman College in Orange; Pacific Christian Col- <br />lege, Fullerton; Southern California College, Costa <br />Mesa; West Coast University, Orange; and Western <br />State University College of Law in Fullerton, plus <br />the following 2-year community colleges: Cypress <br />Community College; Fullerton Community College; <br />Golden West College; Orange Coast College, and <br />Saddleback College, <br /> <br />Orange County offers a broad spectrum of recrea- <br />tional opportunities which are enhanced by its mild <br />climate. <br />Along the county's Pacific Coast shoreline are five <br />state beaches and parks, five municipal beaches and <br />five county beaches, There are two small craft facil- <br />ities in Newport Harbor, which is reported to be the <br />largest pleasure craft harbor in Ihe world. A third <br />small craft facility is located at Sunset Harbor in <br />Huntington Beach. A fourth opened at Dana Point <br />in 1971. <br />Nearby recreational facilities include the world- <br />famous Disneyland, Knott's Berry Fann, and Mis- <br />sion San Juan Capistrano, Lion Country Safari <br />opened in June 1970 at a 5OO-acre site south of <br />Santa Ana, It contains a variety of African animals <br />and birds which visitors may observe on a drive <br />through the facility, <br />In Sanla Ana, there are three golf courses and 27 <br />parks, including a municipal zoo and museum. Ana- <br />heim Stadium, home of the California Angels base- <br />ball team, is six miles north of the city" <br />Camping facilities are available in the Cleveland <br />National Forest and at the county's O'Neill and <br />Featherly Parks, all close to Santa Ana, <br />
