<br />EHC:rj <br />3/7/79 <br /> <br />RESOWl'ION No. 79-9 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A RF.SOIlJTION OF THE CCIHJNITY REDEVEIDPMENl' <br />l\GEOCY OF THE CITY' OF SANTA ANA AUlHORIZING THE <br />ClIAIæI-\N OF THE AGmCY TO EXECI1l'E AN l\GREDIENl' <br />WITH THE CITY' OF SANTA ANA FOR THE IMPLEMENl'ATION <br />OF A GRANT UNDER THE URB1\N MASS TRANSPORl'ATION <br />Per OF 1964, AS AMENDED. <br /> <br />WHERFAS, the Secretary of Transportation is autb:>rized to IlElke <br />grants for mass transportation projects; ani <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cit;y of Santa Ana's contract for financial assist- <br />ance with the Department of Transportation will iIIq¡ose certain obligations upon <br />the Cit;y, incl1X1ing the provision by it of the local share of project costs; <br />ani <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is required by the U.S. Department of Transportation <br />in accord with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that <br />in connection with the filing of an a¡;plication for assistance under the Urban <br />Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as Amended, the a¡;plicant give an assurance <br />that it will oarply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the U.S. <br />.Department of Transportation requirements thereunder; and <br /> <br />WHERFAS, it is the gœ1 of the Cit;y of Santa Ana that mi.rorit;y <br />business enterprise be utilized to the fullest extent possible in connection with <br />this project, and that definitive procedures shall be established ani administered <br />to ensure that mi.rorit;y businesses shall have the max:itm.Jm feasible owortunity <br />to c:c:upete for contracts when procurin:] construction contracts, su¡;plies, equip- <br />ment contracts, or c.onsultant ani other services; ani <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the COnmJnit;y Redeve1opnent Agency of the Cit;y of Santa <br />Ana and the Cit;y of Santa Ana desire to enter into an agreaœnt mereby the <br />Caml.lnit;y RedeveJ.o¡:ment Agency shall assume all iIlplelllentation ani finaooi.a1 <br />obligations of the Cit;y of Santa Ana pursuant to any grant awarded by the Secretary <br />of Transportation. <br /> <br />NOO, THEREFORE, BE IT RE5OLVED by the camumit;y Redeve1opnent Agency <br />of the City of Santa Ana: <br /> <br />That the Chai.J:man of srld Agency is autb:>rized to execute an agree- <br />ment on behalf of the Camunit;y Redevelopœnt Agency of the Cit;y of Santa Ana <br />with the Cit;y of Santa Ana whereby said Agency will assume all obligations ani <br />.responsibilities of the Cit;y of Santa Ana pursuant to an application by the Cit;y <br />of Santa Ana for a grant under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 as anended, <br />inclming, but not by way of limitation, assurances, certifications ani financial <br />contributions as required. <br /> <br />ADOPl'ED this <br />following vote : <br /> <br />12th <br /> <br />day of March <br /> <br />, 1979, by the <br /> <br />l\YES : <br />IDES: <br />ABSENI' : <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />RICIJARD E.
