LIBRARY BUDGET The Library Director explained that <br /> cutting part-time positions, magazine <br /> subscriptions, and book budget sup- <br /> plies were the factors responsible <br />for the $5,000 reduction in the Library's budget. Councilmember Markel <br />commented on the expansion of the Library, and the Director responded to <br />Council's specific questions. <br /> <br />CLERK, CITY ATTORNEY, The City Manager presented a summary <br />& CITY MANAGER BUDGETS of the operations and responsibilities <br /> of the following departments: Clerk <br /> of the Council, City Attorney, and <br />City Manager. Councilmember Markel expressed his concern regarding person- <br />nel turnover, unnecessary paperwork, and the cost of equipment. <br /> <br />The City Attorney discussed the position of Deputy City Attorney III, ex- <br />plaining that this position would coordinate the work of the Deputy City <br />Attorney II's. He also mentioned that he would like to adjust the Assist- <br />ant City Attorney's salary. <br /> <br />The City Manager responded to Council's specific quesitons regarding his <br />area. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL & <br />FINANCE BUDGETS <br /> <br />The City Manager presented overviews <br />of the Personnel and Finance Depart- <br />ments. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council agreed that the following subjects should be <br />discussed at special study sessions: 1) Santa Ana Zoo, 2) Bowers Museum, <br />3) Personnel Department, and 4) Eddie West Field - Santa Ara Stadium.
