MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />October 26, 1981 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:08 p.m. by Mayor Bricken in Room 147, <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were <br />Daniel E. Griset, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. McGuigan, and Mayor Gordon <br />Bricken. Also present were City Manager A. J. Wilson, City Attorney <br />Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy, as well as the <br />City Manager's administrative staff. Councilmembers John Acosta and <br />Alfred C. Serrato were absent. <br /> <br />CITY'S GOALS & OBJECTIVES The Mayor explained that the <br />WORK STUDY SESSION two-year plan being presented <br /> was based on Councilmembers' <br /> suggestions which had been ar- <br />ticulated over the period of the last year. The City Manager reviewed <br />the sections on Community Image, Community Maintenance, and Cultural <br />Programs contained in the Goals and Objectives document and responded to <br />Councilmembers' questions. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 1:57 p.m. and reconvened at 2:06 p.m. in the <br />Council Chambers with the same members present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Councilmember Markel. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />The following items were removed <br />from the Consent Calendar: 2E, 2F, <br />8B, 15, 16B, and 16C. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Luxembourger, <br />seconded by McGuigan, to approve <br />the staff recommendations on the <br />following Consent Calendar items: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, <br />None <br />Acosta, Serrato <br /> <br />McGuigan, <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Approved the Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of September 21, 1981; <br />the Adjourned Regular Meeting of <br />October 5, 1981; and the Regular <br />Meeting of October 5, 1981. <br /> <br />BID CALLS <br /> <br />Approved plans and specifications <br />and authorized advertisement for <br />bids on the following: <br /> <br />SPEC 81-023 - Seven Hand-held Radar Units - <br />Police Department. <br /> <br />SPEC 81-026 - Two Electronic Distance Meters <br />(E.D.M.) - Public Works. <br /> <br />SPEC 81-027 - Three Replacement Dual Magnetos, <br />Coil and Spark Plug System on a Climax Model <br />V-80 Natural Gas Engine - Public Works. <br /> <br />SPEC 81-028 - One Portable 2-Wheel Trailer <br />Mounted Air Compressor - Public Works. <br /> <br />PROJECT 8424 - Reconstruct Tiled Roof on <br />Buildings at Bowers Museum - Public Works. <br /> <br />CA 89 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 324 OCTOBER 26, 1981 <br /> <br /> <br />
