HILL John Garthe for six years of ser- <br /> vice on the Inter-County Airport <br />Authority. Mr. Luxembourger thanked Mr. Garthe on behalf of Council for <br />his dedicated service to the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Councilmember Serrato presented a City Seal tile plaque to John W. Hill for <br />serving two full terms on the Community Redevelopment Commission. Mr. Serrato <br />thanked Mr. Hill on behalf of Council for his valuable assistance to the <br />City of Santa Aha. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATIONS Councilmember Acosta presented a <br />"SPECIAL OLYMPICS DANCEATHON DAY" proclamation to Melinda Medina, <br />"TELEPHONE OPERATORS APPREC. WEEK" Instructor of Aerobic Dance for <br />"NATIONAL BIBLE WEEK" the Special Olympics, and to Pam <br /> Stamp, Special Olympics partici- <br />pant, proclaiming November 22, 1981, as Special Olympics Danceathon Day. <br /> <br />Councilmember Griset presented a proclamation to Marion Stubblebine, <br />operator for Pacific Telephone, proclaiming the week of November 15-21, <br />1981, as Telephone Operator Appreciation Week. <br /> <br />Councilmember Markel presented a proclamation to Dr. Norman Conner, First <br />Christian Church, proclaiming the week of November 22-29, 1981, as <br />National Bible Week. CA 46 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Dick Shapel, Executive Director <br />Y.M.C.A. of the Y.M.C.A. of Santa Ana, <br /> presented an overview of the <br /> activities of this organization <br />in the City of Santa Ana, stating that it served not only young men and <br />boys but also young women and girls of the community. Among its many <br />services, the Y.M.C.A. provides housing facilities, in-home child care, <br />recreational activities, and programs for persons with special develop- <br />mental needs. Councilmember McGuigan presented Mr. Shapel with a City <br />Seal tile plaque in appreciation of the fine work of the Y.M.C.A. in <br />Santa Aha.
