MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />January 18, 1982 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bricken at 1:05 p.m., in Room 147, <br />City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were <br />Daniel E. Griset, Ro W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia Ao McGui§an, <br />and Mayor Gordon Bricken. Also present were City Manager A. J. Wilson, <br />City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy <br />as well as several members of the City Manager's administrative staff and <br />the Director of Finance. Councilmembers John Acosta and Alfred C. Serrato <br />joined the meeting at 1:10 p.m., and 1:40 p.m., respectively. <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION The City Manager presented <br />8TH FLOOR REMODELING another version of his plan to <br /> remodel the eighth floor, <br /> specifically the Clerk of the <br />Council's office space. He indicated the costs for this new version <br />were significantly lower than his previous plans, approximately $35,000. <br /> <br />The Clerk of the Council then presented five alternative plans designed <br />around the needs and requirements of the Clerk's office. Costs for these <br />alternative plans ranged from $5,000 to $21,500, depending on the extent <br />of structure modifications. <br /> <br />Several Councilmembers expressed a need to keep costs down as much as <br />possible and yet obtain a floor arrangement which would improve the <br />eighth floor. <br /> <br />By unanimous informal consent, discussion on the matter was continued. <br /> <br />REPORT BY CM The City Manager reported on a <br />ON REVENUE & meeting of the Revenue and Taxa- <br />TAXATION COMM. MTG. tion Committee, stating that <br /> there is a proposed cutback in <br />State funding which would result a loss of $1,200,000, to the City. He <br />stressed the need for a Council committee on State legislation. <br /> <br />The Council recessed at 1:58 p.m., and reconvened at 2:06 p.m., in the <br />Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza, with all members present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Councilmember Luxembourger. <br /> <br />SA INTERCITY COMMUTER MOTION was made by Griset, <br />STATION - PAYMENT OF seconded by Acosta, to approve <br />RELOCATION & DEMOLITION payment for relocation and demo- <br />COSTS - APPROVED lition costs to Hayes Welding <br /> Incorporation in the amount of <br />$126,753.~0 for the Santa Ana Intercity Commuter Station. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 17 JANUARY 18, 1982 <br /> <br /> <br />
