MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />February 1, 1982 <br /> <br />The meeting was informally convened at 1:11 p.m., in Room 147, City Council <br />Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present were Daniel E. <br />Griset, R. W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. McGuigan, and <br />Mayor Gordon Bricken. Also present were City Manager A. J. Wilson, City <br />Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. Council- <br />member John Acosta's absence was excused by Council, and Councilmember <br />Alfred C. Serrato joined the meeting at 4:13 p.m. <br /> <br />SANTA ANA TOMORROW C~uncilmembers'viewed and <br />CONFERENCE VIDEO TAPE commented upon the video tape <br /> of the Santa Ana Tomorrow <br /> conference held at Santa Ana <br />College held on October 17, 1981, which had been prepared by the Santa <br />Ana College Instructional Media Center. <br /> <br />CHARTER REVISIONS The City Manager relayed to <br /> the Council that it would be <br /> necessary for Council to ex- <br /> press its intention to consider <br />possible amendments to the Santa Ana City Charter on February 16, 1982. <br />Paul Sepulveda, Vice Chairman of the Charter Revision Committee, re- <br />quested that Council not take any action until the Committee's full <br />report is submitted to Council. The Mayor commented that Council's <br />responsibility would be to determine which of the suggested Charter <br />amendments were worthy to be placed on the ballot. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 1:47 p.m., and reconvened in the Council Chambers at <br />2:03 p.m., with the same members present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Councilmember Markel. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />ITEMS REMOVED <br /> <br />The following items were removed <br />from the Consent Calendar: 2G, <br />5H, 5I, 5J, 5K, 6C, 8B, 12A, 12C, <br />12D and 19B. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />MOTION was made by Luxembourger, <br />seconded by McGuigan, to approve <br />staff recommendations on the <br />following Consent Calendar <br />items: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Bricken, Griset, Luxembourger, Markel, McGuigan <br />None <br />Acosta, Serrato <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 36 FEBRUARY 1, 1982 <br /> <br /> <br />
