Councilman Markel requested that staff make necessary street repairs to <br />Third Street between Main and Flower Streets. <br /> <br />RECESS At 4:58 p.m., Council recessed to <br />DINNER Western Medical Center, 1001N. <br />RECONVENED Tustin Avenue, Santa Ana, for a <br /> tour of the facilities and dinner <br />with members of the executive staff and board of the hospital. <br /> <br />The meeting was reconvened in the Council Chambers at 7:40 p.m., with the <br />same members present. <br /> <br />INVOCATION <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag, the Invocation was <br />given by Father Charles Huse, <br />Our Lady Del Pilar Church. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT Lynne Coenen, Executive Director <br /> of the Women's Transitional Living <br /> Center, described Center's efforts <br /> to reduce domestic violence, stating <br />that it was a whole family issue. She also expressed appreciation on behalf <br />of the Center for Santa Ana's commitment to the WTLC program. Councilmember <br />John Acosta presented Ms. Coenen with a City Seal Tile Plaque in appreciation <br />of the Center's valuable contribution to residents of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> CA 9.4 <br /> <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATION Ed Bauman, member of the board of <br />FRIENDS OF SANTA ANA ZOO Friends of the Santa Ana Zoo, <br /> presented a check for $26,000 <br /> from the ITT-Cannon Grant for <br />construction of an amphitheater at the Zoo to the Council. The Mayor accepted <br />the check on behalf of the City, and thanked the Friends of the Zoo for <br />their efforts and dedication to improving the Zoo facility. CA 52.8a <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE The Clerk of Council ad- <br />MOLLY DOUGHTY ministered the Oath of Office <br /> to Molly Grafton-Dou§hty, newly <br /> appointed member to the Cultural <br />Heritage Evaluation Committee.
