De Sigio Construction, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices for an estimated amount of <br />$359,940. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of <br />$449,900. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project involves the construction of a new water main and <br />appurtenances along Birch Street from First to Cubbon Streets (Exhibit <br />1). Work includes the construction of new water mains, valves, fire <br />hydrants, and water services. Once completed, this project will <br />eliminate water main breaks and leaks associated with older and <br />deteriorated water mains. In addition, it will enhance water service <br />capacity and provide fire protection to the surrounding neighborhoods. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 26 and 28, 2005, and <br />bids were opened on February 24, 2005.
