<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-034 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL DEFERRED <br />COMPENSATION FOR THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />On December 6, 1999, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 99-078 providing for the compensation and employee benefits for the <br />Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />On January 16, 2000, the City Council appointed Patricia Healy to the <br />position of Clerk of the Council, an unrepresented Executive Management <br />position, at salary rate range step EM28-9. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />On April 7, 2003, the City Council increased the salary of the Clerk of the <br />Council by 2.5% to salary rate range EM28-10. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />The City Council desires to amend the City's contribution to deferred <br />compensation for the Clerk of the Council without altering any other <br />compensation provisions applicable to the position under the Executive <br />Management Compensation Plan. <br /> <br />Section 2: Deferred Compensation. Said Officer shall receive from the City <br />each calendar year commencing with 2005, as additional compensation pursuant to <br />Government Code section 53214, $2,500 toward deferred compensation pursuant to <br />section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code. During calendar year 2006 and 2007 an <br />additional compensation of the $2,500 will be provided each year. The contribution for <br />each subsequent year will be $5,000 for calendar year 2006, and $7,500 for calendar <br />year 2007 and each year thereafter. <br /> <br />Section 3: Except as expressly provided herein, all other compensation <br />provisions applicable to the Clerk of the Council shall continue in full force and effect. <br /> <br />Section 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 21st day of March, 2005. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2005-034 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
