In order to comply with Federal and State regulations, the <br />modules must be adequately maintained. Module flooring and hallways <br />are cleaned by the inmates utilizing commercial grade burnishers on a <br />daily basis. The existing equipment is over eight years old and it is <br />more cost-effective to replace than repair it. The new equipment will <br />ensure the jail has adequate means to keep the module areas clean. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 23 & 25, <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />2005, and <br />and bids <br /> <br />5 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />4 Bids received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on March 7, 2005 (Exhibit 1).
