The <br />standard recommends a limit of 15 years to frontline service units, <br />wi th a reserve status of five years. The standards are part of the <br />requirements for maintaining a recognized Class 1 Fire Department. Due <br />to age, one 1981 pumper meets the schedule for replacement. The <br />delivery time with American LaFrance of Los Angeles is at a ten-month <br />period. <br /> <br />On February 2, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to American <br />LaFrance of Los Angeles for the purchase of a fire pumper. American <br />LaFrance of Los Angeles has agreed to extend the same terms and <br />condi tions of the contract; however, the vendor has requested a 1.46 <br />percent price increase for the 2006 American LaFrance custom fire <br />pumper due to steel price increases. <br /> <br />22M-1 <br /> <br />CS ]83 <br />
