<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />APRIL 4, 2005 <br />TITLE: <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />D Ordinance on 1 sl Reading <br />D Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />D Implementing Resolution <br />D Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />MANAGEMENT SERVICES WITH <br />CYBERNET CONSULTING, INC. <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with CyberNet <br />Consulting, Inc. in the amount of $25,000 plus a contingency of $2,500 <br />for a total project amount not to exceed $27,500 for construction <br />management services to install a video surveillance system at West <br />Reservoir. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) funded by the Federal <br />government provides for the installation of security systems at critical <br />city facilities. The City has received approval to install a video <br />surveillance system at the West Reservoir located at 4426 West First St. <br />The cost of installing this system will be paid for with UASI funds. <br /> <br />The City retained CyberNet Consulting, Inc. to design the video <br />surveillance system. The design is complete and bids are being solicited <br />for system development and installation. To insure that all technical <br />requirements of the system specifications are met, city staff will need <br />technical assistance during the installation process. As the design <br />consultant for this highly complex system, CyberNet Consulting Inc. is <br />best qualified to assist with system installation and start up. Due to <br />their familiarity with this highly complex and technical project, staff <br />recommends that CyberNet Consulting, Inc. be retained on a sole source <br />basis to provide these services. <br /> <br />25E-1 <br />
