MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />February 15, 1983 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Ma~or Gordon Bricken at 5:41 p.m., in <br />the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers present <br />were John Acosta, R. W. Luxembourger, J. Ogden Markel, Patricia A. <br />McGuigan, and Mayor Gordon Bricken. Also present were Assistant City <br />Manager Rex Swanson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper, and Clerk of the <br />Council Janice C. Guy. Councilmember Daniel E. Griset joined the meeting <br />at 5:45 p.m., and Councilmember Alfred C. Serrato was absent. <br /> <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />INVOCATION <br /> <br />Following the Pledge of Alle- <br />giance to the Flag, the Invocation <br />was given by Mayor Gordon Bricken. <br /> <br />JT. PUBLIC HEARING At 6:50 p.m., following action <br />SALE OF CRA PROPERTY TO by the Community Redevelopment <br />HONIG - RES. NO. 83-22 Agency, the Vice Mayor announced <br />ADOPTED that this was the time and place <br /> for the joint public hearing of <br />the Community Redevelopment Agency and the City Council of the City of <br />Santa Ana, for the proposed sale of property by the Community Redevelopment <br />Agency of the City of Santa Ana to Douglas S. Honig, of a site bounded on <br />the north by a line approximately 157' north of Civic Center Drive, on the <br />west by Lowell Street, on the south by Civic Center Drive, and on the <br />east by Flower Street. <br /> <br />Assistant City Manager Swanson reported that in lieu of a staff report, <br />Verlyn Jensen, would speak on the project. Mr. Jensen, representing the <br />developer, discussed the project and indicated that 26 out of 32 condominium <br />units already had lease options. <br /> <br />Staff reported there were no w~itten communications. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in favor of the project: <br /> <br />LaDale Dunbar, 824 North Olive <br />Janice Boer, 912 North Lowell <br /> <br />Gregory Pitcher, architect for the project, explained several construction <br />details. <br /> <br />Mrs. Boer requested that the neighborhood be extended the courtesy <br />of notification regarding additional meetings on this project, and on any <br />future projects. <br /> <br />The Vice Mayor requested that staff take note of this request. <br /> <br />There were no other speakers.
