<br />HRCA No. 2004-08 <br />HRC No. 2004-08 <br />February 3, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Based on the results of research, the structure meets the criteria to be <br />placed in the Key category as contained in Section 30-2.2 of the Santa <br />Ana Municipal Code. The code criteria for Key designation are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />The building, landmark or district <br />architectural style and quality; or <br /> <br />has <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />distinctive <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />The building, landmark or district is characteristic of a <br />significant period in the history of the City of Santa Ana; or <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />The building, landmark or district is associated <br />significant person or event in the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />with <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />The Wettlin House, builtin 1926, is eligible for inclusion on the <br />Register as it is a representative example of a highly picturesque Tudor <br />Revival architectural style. The one-story structure is eligible to be <br />placed within the Key category for its distinctive architectural style <br />and quality as illustrated by its steeply pitched, cross-gabled roof; <br />front-gable detailed with clipped or j erkinhead peak; an arched front <br />door with an octagonal window; a series of tripartite windows, some <br />topped by a transom; and a front gabled dormer accented with an arrow <br />tipped bargeboard and exposed beams. <br /> <br />Based on findings consistent with the criteria established <br />of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, it is recommended that <br />Resources Commission approve the actions as noted. A <br />correspondence log is attached for your review (Exhibit 3). <br /> <br />in Chapter 30 <br />the Historic <br />case planner <br /> <br />CEQA Compliance <br /> <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the <br />recommended action is exempt from further review.
