HOUSING AUTHORITY <br /> <br />Council recessed to the Housing Authority from 3:41 p.m. to 3:42 p.m, and <br />reconvened at 3:42 p.m., and immediately recessed to Room 147 for a <br />briefing on the Civic Center Drive Corridor Study. <br /> <br />BRIEFING - CIVIC CENTER DRIVE CORRIDOR <br /> <br />The Director of Planning & Development Services reviewed the proposed <br />zoning changes planned for the area adjacent to Civic Center Drive between <br />Flower and Bristol Streets contained in the Civic Center Drive Corridor <br />Specific Plan. He discussed such items as entryway treatments, additional <br />landscaping, traffic diverters, and development standards for commercial <br />development in the area. He expressed the City's intention to promote <br />such development with adequate buffering from the nearby residential <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Councilmembers questioned the Director about the Specific Plan and expressed <br />their concerns regarding the economics of development and control of <br />vehicular traffic in the neighborhood. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />At 4:43 p.m., the Council recessed to Executive Session, and reconvened <br />in the Council Chambers at 5:14 p.m., with all members present. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION REPORT <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Authorize the City Attorney to settle the case of City vs. <br />Hayes, in the amount of $701,675 for land and improvements <br />and $35,000 for good will. <br /> <br />MOTION: McGuigan SECOND: Bricken <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br /> None <br /> None FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Authorize the City Attorney to settle the case of Joanne <br />Harmon vs. City of Santa Aha, in the amount of $34,000 to <br />Joanne Harmon and $2,000 to State Farm Insurance Company. <br /> <br />MOTION: Bricken SECOND: Young <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />None <br />None FILE 410.10 <br /> <br />RECESS AT 5:16 P.M. - Dinner at Nieuport 17, 1615 E.
