Award a contract to Hillcrest Contracting, Inc. , the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $124,179.60 for construction of parking lot <br />improvements at Fire Station Nos. 3 and 5. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of <br />$155,300. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project involves the reconstruction of the parking lots at Fire <br />Station Nos. 3 & 5 (Exhibit 1). The pavement at these stations is in <br />need of repair. The proj ect includes the pavement repair and re- <br />striping, Once completed, the project will enhance the stations' visual <br />appearance and extend the life span of the pavement. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 2 and 4, 2005, and bids <br />were opened on March 24, 2005. A summary of the bid invitations mailed, <br />the bids received, and bid results follow. <br /> <br />Santa Ana Contractors receiving notices: 8 <br />Contractors requesting bidding documents: 8 <br />Bid received: 5 <br />Bids received from Santa Ana Contractors: 0 <br /> <br />238-1 <br />
