Award a contract to Brandt Commercial Signs, the <br />bidder, in accordance with lump sum amount of <br />construction of a concrete block art wall at the <br />Transportation Center. <br /> <br />lowest responsible <br />$382,500 for the <br />Santa Ana Regional <br /> <br />2, Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $478,500. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project involves the construction of a concrete block wall that will <br />function as a backdrop where art images can be displayed. The wall will <br />be approximately 500 feet long by 10 feet high and will be constructed <br />adjacent to the existing railroad tracks just east of the Depot railroad <br />platform (Exhibit 1). Request for proposals will be solicited from <br />artists to create art images for evaluation. CDA will take the lead in <br />creating a committee to select the art image. Once completed, this <br />project will enhance the aesthetics of the Depot and will serve as part <br />of the upcoming pedestrian bridge for train commuters. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 7 and 9, 2005 and bids <br />were opened on March 25, 2005.
