Noted that aCTA voted on the extension of the 57 freeway through the <br />City's neighborhoods; she noted that the city has taken a position in <br />opposition to this extension and she requested that the City Manager <br />send a letter to OCT A reminding them of the City's position <br />. Encouraged residents to attend the hearing on the 4th Court of Appeal <br />and support the City's efforts in keeping the Court in Santa Ana <br />. Noted that there have been several accusations made relative to <br />proponents of the One Broadway Plaza project, inaccurate and false <br />statements made in campaign literature against the project, and rumors <br />aimed at provoking fear in the community; she noted that everyone in <br />the City will benefit from the project and that she continues to support <br />Measure A and asked all voters to vote tomorrow. <br /> <br />Council member Bustamante <br />. Stated that he was fortunate to have an audience with Pope John Paul <br />II in 1987and he was deeply moved by him <br />. Encouraged residents to attend the Court of Appeal hearing on <br />Wednesday, April 6, 2005 <br />. Noted that he supports Measure A based on its merits; he further noted <br />that he was born and raised in Santa Ana and was embarrassed in the <br />1980's due to the decisions made by the City relative to land <br />annexations, and the projects that were passed up, including South <br />Coast Plaza. He further noted that Santa Ana is in competition with <br />other cities in the County for the best jobs and the best housing <br /> <br />Mavor Pulido <br />. Noted that everyone exhibits passion on the issue of Measure A <br />because they care about the City, He further stated that he believed <br />Measure A is an important project for the City because of the <br />improvement to the quality of life, and it will give Santa Ana the cultural <br />amenities and activities that distinguish great cities.
