MOTION: Griset S~COI~D: Acosta <br /> <br />Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />None <br />None FILE 425.05 <br /> <br />CCMMUNICATIONS FRf~ THE pUBLIC <br /> <br />Thomas Ferrier, 521 So. Birch, expressed his concern regarding the need <br />for installation of a traffic signal at First and Garfield. <br /> <br />Dale Conner, 4901 Maurie, stated that City of Santa Ana Ordinance NO. <br />NS-1618 was in conflict with Section 5050 et seq. California Vehicle Code, <br />and expressed his concern that City of Santa Ana Police officers were <br />entering onto his property illegally trying to destroy collectible <br />automobiles in his backyard. By unanimous informal consent, the matter <br />was referred to staff, and enforcement temporarily abated for two weeks. <br /> <br />Scott Bowen, 2428 N. Valencia, requested to see a report from the Police <br />Department which he stated contained false information. The City Attorney <br />stated that releasing the report would be unlawful, and that Mr. Bow~n <br />might seek legal counsel, should he care to pursue this matter. <br /> <br />60. COUNCIL AGf~qI]A IRT~kg <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan stated that the Santa Ana winds would be defending <br />their championship in August in New Orleans, and requested that they be <br />allowed to use the Stadium for rehearsal purposes. The Director of <br />Recreation & Parks stated that he would work with the Winds in the use of <br />the stadium. Councilmember McGuigan also co~mended staff who participated <br />in the July 4th All-America City Celebration. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bricken left the meeting at 4:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta requested a staff report on an incident that <br />occurred at the train station last week. The City Manager stated that he <br />would provide a report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson stated that he was very impressed with Police <br />Service Officers and Park Rangers who were at the All-America City <br />Celebration on July 4. Councilmember Johnson requested that a report on a <br />hazardous materials unit for the Fire Department be placed on the Council <br />Referral list. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Griset reported that the State Transportation Conmission <br />approved Orange County program funding which included overcrossings at <br />1st, 4th, Grand and 17th Streets for the Santa Ana Freeway. <br /> <br />Mayor Luxembourger requested a financial report on the All-America City <br />Celebration activity at the Stadium. <br /> <br />Councilmember Johnson asked for an update on his Council Referral No. <br />83-16 concerning the airport.
