Award a contract to Long Beach Roofing, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$66,199 for the replacement of roofs at Angels, Cabrillo, Fisher and <br />Riverview Parks. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $96,600, <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The roofs of buildings at Angels, Cabrillo, and Riverview Parks have <br />deteriorated due to weather. Normal maintenance will no longer keep water <br />from leaking through the roof. As a result, water damage is taking its <br />toll on the interiors of these buildings. <br /> <br />This project provides for the removal and replacement of the deteriorated <br />roofing materials (Exhibit 1). The built-up roofs of the buildings <br />Angels, Cabrillo, and Riverview Parks will be removed and replaced with <br />similar roofs. The roof of the building at Fisher Park will be replaced <br />with lightweight concrete shingles made to resemble the current wood <br />shingles. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 9 and 11, 2005, and bids <br />were opened on April 6, 2005. A summary of the bid invitations mailed, <br />the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br /> <br />23C-1 <br />
