Award a contract to Nobest, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, in <br />accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of $301,000 <br />for construction of improvements in the Artesia Pilar Neighborhood. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $376,200. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />This project provides for replacement of damaged and uplifted sidewalks, <br />curbs, gutters, and driveway approaches due to growth of tree roots at <br />various locations in the Artesia Pilar Neighborhood (Exhibit 1). Tree <br />roots will be shaved to eliminate localized water ponding and to restore <br />acceptable drainage to gutters and sidewalks that have been uplifted. <br />Once completed, these improvements will enhance the surface drainage and <br />visual appearance of the neighborhood. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 28 and March 2, 2005, <br />and bids were opened on April 7, 2005.
