Councilmember Bricken stated that wi~ reference to traffic ticket money, <br />motor vehicle accidents were down from the same time last year. <br />Councilme~er Bricken asked for an update on his suggestions for the <br />All-Ar~rica City identification issue. The City Manager responded tt~at he <br />would have a report on Septen~er 1. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bri~ken inquired as to participation by the Fire Departr~nt <br />in the Golden City Days Parade. The City M~nager stated that the themo of <br />the parade was to tie in with the International Festival, and that the <br />Fire Department had been asked to participate. <br /> <br />Councilmem~er Bricken stated that he was concerned that preparations for <br />the Christmas Parade were not underway. The City Manager stated that <br />preparations were underway, and that the Chamber of Commerce was also <br />working on the parade. Councilmen~er Bricken also asked that <br />prefabricated pedestrian overpasses be examined as to cost and feasibility <br />in lieu of traffic signals. <br /> <br />Mayor Luxembourger requested a meeting with the City Manager regarding <br />the Golden City Days Parade. Mayor Luxe~oourger also complimented Joyce <br />Lawson of the Recreation & Parks staff and staff members for outstanding <br />work on the Antique Car Parade on Saturday, August 13. <br /> <br />35.
