MINI~IF~ OF THE SPECIAL MEETIN~ <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN~A ANA, CALIFCRNIA <br /> <br />November 23, 1983 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m., by Mayor R. W. Luxe~bou~ger, <br />in Room 147, City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers <br />present were Gordon Bricken, Daniel E. Griset, Dan Young, and Mayor <br />Luxembourger. Also present were Interim City Manager Rex Swanson, City <br />Attorney Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice C. Guy. <br />CounciLmembers John. Acosta and Patricia A. McGuigan joined the meeting at <br />5:34 p.m. and 5:37 p.m., respectively. Councilmember P. Lee Johnson was <br />absent. <br /> <br />The Council immediately recessed to Executive Session and reconvened in <br />the Council Chambers at 5:37 p.m., with all members present, except <br />Counc ilmember Johnson. <br /> <br />prRnGE OF AT.rRGIANCE <br /> <br />IN-~GCATION- Mayor Luxe~ourger <br /> <br />Interim City Manager Swanson explained that the special meeting had been <br />initiated at staff's request and its purpose was to request a <br />reaffirmation of support of management and the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />MOTION: Adopt the following statement: <br /> <br />In view of recent events, the City Council wishes to <br />publicly express its confidence in the City Manager <br />and the contract negotiating team. Further, the <br />Council has the highest confidence in the skill, dedication <br />and loyalty of all City employees.
