MINUTES OF THE ADJOURb~D RE(~JIAR MEETING <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SANTA Ah]A, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />December 21, 1983 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:44 p.m., by Mayor R. W. Luxembourger, <br />in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza. Councilmembers <br />present were Daniel E. Griset, P. Lee Johnson, Patricia A. McGuigan, Dan <br />Young, and Mayor Luxembourger. Also present were Interim City Manager Rex <br />Swanson, City Attorney Edward J. Cooper and Clerk of the Council Janice <br />C. Guy. Councilmenbers John Acosta and Gordon Bricken were absent. <br /> <br />EXMCUT1-VE SESSION <br /> <br />The Council recessed to Executive Session at 5:45 p.m., and reconvened at <br />5:50 p.m. with the same members present. <br /> <br />APPOINI~NT OF CITY MAk%GER <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Appoint Robert C. Bobb to the office of City Manager of <br />the City of Santa Ana, effective February 6, 1984, and <br />instruct the City Attorney to prepare a resolution <br />setting forth the terms and conditions of employment <br />for adoption bythe City Council at its regularly scheduled <br />meeting of January 3, 1984. <br /> <br />MOTION: Young SECOND: Johnson <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported that Councilmember Acosta had telephoned him <br />that day and explained he was unable to attend the meeting but authorized <br />the City Attorney to convey his support of the motion and appointment of <br />Robert C. Bobb as City Manager, as had been previously discussed in <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />The City Attorney further explained that Councilmember Gordon Bricken was <br />absent due to illness and that he, too, supported the appointment based on <br />the terms and conditions as had been discussed in earlier Executive <br />Sessions. <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br /> <br />Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, McGuigan, Young <br />None <br />Acosta, Bricken FILE 130 <br /> <br />At 5:52 p.m., the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> C.
