OPP(~ITION TO COUNTY DETOX CENT~ <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Oppose the location of a County Detoxification Center on <br />Chestnut Street in Santa Ana and authorize the Mayor to <br />conmunicate Santa Ana's opposition at the appropriate time <br />to the appropriate parties. <br /> <br />MOTION: Johnson SECOI~): Griset <br /> <br />AYES: Acosta, Bricken, Griset, Johnson, <br /> Luxembourger, McGuigan,,Young <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None FILE <br /> <br />625.55 <br /> <br />Councilmember Bricken requested that entrance signs to the City <br />include the All-AmericaCitysymbol. He also requested that staff <br />organize a meeting with the appropriate County staff members to <br />explore the reasons the County seemed to select Santa Ana as the <br />site of so many undesirable facilities. <br /> <br />In response to Councilmeraber Bricken's question, the Director of <br />Transportation Services agreed to provide a written report to the <br />Council regarding widening plans for Bristol Street. <br /> <br />Councilmember Young inquired as to the status of the meeting of the <br />work study session with the Civic Center Conmission. He also <br />requested that staff consider "taking" the full depth of lots along <br />Bristol street to achieve the most attractive widening and land- <br />scaping design. .The Deputy City Manager reported that staff is in <br />the process of setting new standards for arterial improvements and <br />would provide a report to Council on the subject. <br /> <br />Councilmember Young inquired as to what assistance the City might <br />provide to St. Joseph's Ballet Company regarding finding a location <br />and was informed that staff had been working to solve that problem <br />for some time. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested that staff investigate apossible <br />illegal used car lot located on the northeast corner of First add <br />Pacific Streets. Councilmember Bricken suggested staff also investi- <br />gate a perpetual garage sale activity located at the northeast corner <br />of McFadden and Pacific. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan requested that a work study session be set <br />concerning zoning policy and was informed that session would be held <br />in April. <br /> <br />Councilmember Acosta reported possible illegal sales of produce at <br />the corner of Raitt and McFadden Streets. <br /> <br />Mayor Luxembourger requested that he be provided with the work <br />schedule of the lend use investigators employed in the Neighborhood <br />Improvement Program. <br /> <br />CITY CO3NClL MINUTES 37 FEBRUARY 6, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
