Koo and Associates to design the seismic <br />retrofits of First Street, Fifth Street, and McFadden Avenue bridges over <br />the Santa Ana River. On January 18, 2005, Council awarded a contract to <br />D. W Powell Construction, Inc. to perform the seismic retrofit <br />construction. As part of the construction, a geotechnical engineer is <br />required to monitor the foundation pile driving. <br /> <br />The original contract with W. Koo and Associates did not include the <br />monitoring of the pile driving. Therefore, an increase in the amount of <br />$30,000 to the contract is required to perform these services. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the <br />recommended action is not considered a CEQA proj ect . Therefore, no <br />environmental documentation is required. <br /> <br />25C-1 <br />
