.M <br />M <br />COMMENTS <br />VOTE: AYES: Alvarez, Bist, Bustamante, Garcia, Pulido, <br />Solorio (6) <br />NOES: Christy (1) <br />ABSTAIN: (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />COMMENTS <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Delilah Snell thanked the Council for its support of the Farmer's Market <br />concept in Santa Ana, and invited everyone to the grand opening of the <br />market on May 11, 2005 at 3:00 p.m.; Ben Grabiel endorsed the Farmer's <br />Market and encouraged residents to attend; Alex Vega expressed <br />concern that his market was not supported. <br />Javier de la Fuente Ramirez informed the Council that there was a need <br />for Spanish theatre in Santa Ana <br />Barbara Lamere expressed concern about the lack of playground <br />equipment in Windsor Park <br />Claudio W. Gallegos commended the Council for the action on the <br />creation of the Ad Hoc Committee for Charter Review and noted that this <br />was a chance for meaningful reform measures to be placed on the ballot; <br />Desi Reyes noted that there is insufficient funding for residential streets <br />and suggested that ballot measures be considered to raise revenue for <br />this purpose <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Garcia <br />• Concurred that the residential streets are in need of repair <br />• Asked staff to review the situation at Windsor Park and recommend <br />improvements that can be made <br />• Announced that the Mother's Day Mariachi Festival will take place on <br />Saturday, May 7, 2005 at the Santa Ana Stadium <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />• Thanked the speakers from the Public Law Center for their input and <br />encouraged them to also advocate in other Orange County cities <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 172 MAY 2, 2005 <br />
