<br />. The noise standard plus five (5) dB(A) for a <br />cumulative period of more than fifteen (15) minutes in <br />any hour; <br /> <br />. The noise standard plus ten (10) dB (A) for a <br />cumulative period of more than five (5) minutes in any <br />hour; or <br /> <br />· The noise standard plus fifteen (15) dB (A) for a <br />cumulative period of more than one minute in any hour; <br />or <br /> <br />. The noise standard plus twenty (20) dB (A) for any <br />period of time <br /> <br />C. In the event the ambient noise level exceeds any of <br />the first four (4) noise limit categories above, the <br />cumulative period applicable to said category shall be <br />increased to reflect said ambient noise level. In the <br />event the ambient noise level exceeds the fifth noise <br />limit category, the maximum allowable noise level <br />under said category shall be increased to reflect the <br />maximum ambient noise level. <br /> <br />Construction Noise Provisions <br /> <br />According to the Noise Ordinance noise sources associated <br />with construction, repair, remodeling, or grading of any <br />real property are exempt from regulation, provided said <br />activities do not take place between the hours of 8:00 p.m. <br />and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays, including Saturday, or any time <br />on Sunday or a federal holiday. <br /> <br />Existing Setting <br /> <br />The project site is located at the southwest corner of <br />MacArthur Boulevard and Main Street in the City of Santa <br />Ana. Both MacArthur Boulevard and Main Street are heavily <br />traveled roadway arterials. The project site is adjacent <br />to the MacMain Plaza to the west and condominiums to the <br />south the project site. <br /> <br />Certain land uses are particularly sensitive to noise. As <br />specified in the City's General Plan Noise Element, noise- <br />sensitive uses include residential, school, and open <br />space/recreation uses where quiet environments are <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />31A-54 <br />26 of 85 <br />
