NO. 05-044) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br /> <br />{~mc- <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Award contracts for temporary personnel services for a one-year period <br />with provisions for two one-year renewals in the annual aggregate <br />amount not to exceed $190,000 with the following vendors: <br /> <br />Vendor: <br /> <br />Abigail Abbott Staffing Services, Inc. <br />Devon & Devon Career Professionals <br />Howroyd Wright Employment Agency, Inc. <br />d/b/a AppleOne Employment Services <br />PDQ Personnel Services, Inc. <br />Venturi Staffing Partners <br /> <br />APR Consulting, Inc. <br />Coneybeare, Inc. <br />Focus On Temps, Inc. <br />Kimco Staffing Services <br />Manpower, Inc. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The availability of temporary personnel services provides departments <br />with the ability to hire staff during peak workload periods, as well as <br />during the recruitment period for a given position. The recommended <br />contracts will provide various departments with the necessary temporary <br />personnel services. Ten primary personnel classifications which <br />include clerical assistant, file clerk, accounting clerk, typist, data <br />entry clerk, receptionist and custodian are offered by the various <br />vendors. Personnel are paid on an hourly basis according to job <br />classification. City departments may utilize any of the vendors <br />depending on rate, need and availability. Awarding nine contracts <br />provides a full spectrum of staff from the Southern California job pool <br />and provides the City an opportunity to assess the service and caliber <br />of the vendors both within Santa Ana and local vicinity. <br /> <br />22G-1 <br /> <br />CS 383 <br />
