The team provides a coordinated response to critical incidents <br />throughout the city and the County of Orange. A specialty element on the <br />SWAT Team is the Breaching Unit. This unit is charged with the <br />responsibili ty to quickly enter a building utili zing a variety of tools. <br />The Broco cutting torch can quickly and safely cut through steel locks and <br />iron bars. It is less damaging than other tools in certain situations and <br />safer for officers and occupants. <br /> <br />Cutting torches are not unique in their use by SWAT Teams, however, the <br />Santa Ana SWAT Team has not had access to a cutting torch prior to this <br />donation. Broco Inc., is a prominent Southern California business leader <br />whose has the desire to impact local communities in a positive manner by <br />supporting local law enforcement. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br /> <br />~"y~~~ ~ ~ [i~ <br /> <br />Paul M.
