ADDITION OF CODE ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuigan expressed the need to find a solution for <br />residents displaced by the Code Enforc~ent program before proceeding <br />with expanding the program. <br /> <br />The Vice Mayor indicated a need to make a commitment of CDBG funds for <br />relocation assistance. <br /> <br /> MOTION: Expand the Code Enforc~nent Program by adding <br /> five officers. <br /> <br /> MOTION: Young SECOND: Johnson <br /> <br /> VOTE: AYES: Bricken, Johnson, Luxembourger, Young <br /> NOES: Griset, McGu igan <br /> ABSENT: Acosta FILE 505 <br /> 625.40 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE REORGANIZATION <br /> <br />The City Manager explained his plan to restructure the City's <br />administration, reducing his span of cor~nand, consolidating services, <br />and providing greater accountability on behalf of management. He <br />requested conceptual approval of the plan outlined in the memo to <br />Council dated May 7, 1984, authorization to recruit and hire a <br />Director of Conmunications pursuant to the job description contained <br />in the City's existing job classifications, to staff the Cable TV <br />position as contained in the draft organization chart, to recruit and <br />hire a Director of H~nan Resources, to solicit proposals from outside <br />firms to perform a job classification study of ex,pt positions in the <br />City, and to develop transition reports on how the plan will be <br />impl(anented. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Authorize the City Manager to proceed with the <br />plan as described, to provide reports of subse- <br />quent actions, and to report back to Council on <br />any needed charter ~endments. <br /> <br />MOTION: Griset SECOND: Johnson <br /> <br />VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Bricken, Griset, Johnson, Luxembourger, <br /> McGuigan, Young <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Acosta FILE 130 <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> <br />169 MAY 14, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
