ORAL COM~3NICATIONS <br /> <br />Jereme L. Amante, 1 Wilshire Bldg~ Los Angeles, addressed Council and <br />introduced into the record a doct~ent dated May 10, 1984, addressed to <br />C. Stephen Bucknam, Jr., Water Engineer, regarding Amendment to Agree- <br />ment for Water Production and Transmission Facilities, which was <br />received by the Irvine Ranch Water District on May 11, 1984. Mr. <br />Amante then introduced into the record and requested confirmation of <br />receipt of a document dated May 16, 1984, addressed to Janice C. Guy, <br />Clerk of the Council, regarding Amendment to Agre(ament for Water <br />Production and Transmission Facilities and was assured both of said <br />doc~ents had been received by the City. <br /> <br />Robert Mendez, 1670 W. Cubbon Street, addressed Council with a <br />complaint regarding the lack of enforcement relative to the ice cream <br />truck ordinance. The Mayor requested that a meeting be set up <br />involving the Mayor, the City Manager, the Police Chief, and City <br />Attorney for purposes of discussing ice cream truck ordinance <br />enforc~nent, and assured Mr. Mendez he would con~unicate to him the <br />results of that discussion. <br /> <br />The City Attorney reported that the insurance policies for the <br />Exploratory Learning Center appeared to be adequate with exception of <br />the fire loss policy. Ms. Johnson informed the Council that the <br />Center would apply for additional fire insurance for the property. <br /> <br />WALK-ON ITEM <br /> <br />PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH THE PUBLIC <br />~MPLOYEES' RETtRf~ENT SYSTEM (PERS) <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution No. 84-62 and reflect in the <br />Minutes the estimated cost of the proposed <br />contract amendment as follows: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The City's cost rate will increase 1.409% <br />percentage points from 25.891% to 27.300% <br />of the applicable fire safety payroll <br />effective July 1, 1984. This percentage <br />increase is the projected actuarial rate <br />to the year 2000 subject to change with <br />future amendments and/or experience and <br />other factors. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />During Fiscal Year 1984-85 the estimated <br />cost of the rate increase will be approxi- <br />mately $95,000.00 based on current and <br />projected fire safety payroll figures. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 193 MAY 21, 1984 <br /> <br /> <br />
