SECTION 16010 — BASIC ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS <br />PART 1 — GENERAL <br />1.1 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Basic Electrical Requirements specifically applicable to Division 16 Sections, in <br />addition to Division 1 - General Requirements. <br />1.2 THE REQUIREMENT <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall provide all tools, supplies, materials, equipment, and all labor <br />necessary for the furnishing, construction, installation, testing, and operation of all <br />electrical work and appurtenant work necessary to provide a complete and operable <br />electrical system, all in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall make all field connections and terminations to all motors, <br />panels, control equipment and devices, instruments, and to all vendor -furnished <br />packaged equipment as required by these Specifications. The provisions of this <br />Section shall apply to all electrical items specified in the various Sections of Division 16 <br />of these Specifications, except where otherwise specified or shown in the Contract <br />Documents. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall furnish and install all materials and incidentals required to <br />complete the electrical work as specified herein. Typical materials which may be <br />incidentals shall not be limited to terminal lugs not furnished with vendor -supplied <br />equipment, splices, junction and terminal boxes, and all control wires required by <br />vendor -furnished equipment to interconnect with other equipment all specifically shown <br />on the Contract Documents. <br />D. All concrete work required for encasement, installation, or construction of the work <br />specified in the various Sections of Division 16 is included as a part of the work <br />hereunder, and shall be 3,000-psi concrete; provided, that the following exceptions and <br />supplementary requirements shall apply: <br />1. Consolidation of encasement concrete around duct banks shall be by hand <br />puddling, and no mechanical vibration shall be permitted. <br />2. Concrete for encasement of conduit or duct banks shall contain an integral red - <br />oxide coloring pigment in the proportion of 8 pounds per cubic yard of concrete. <br />1.3 PERMITS AND INSPECTION <br />A. Permits shall be obtained and inspection fees shall be paid for as specified in the <br />General Requirements. <br />1.4 CONTRACTOR SUBMITTALS <br />A.
